On Thursday 23rd July 2009 I again visited the YTEPP Centre at Barataria Junior Secondary School. I spoke to a group of young men. I gave a brief history of myself and addressed them on the roles, functions and status of men. The workshop was very therapeutic and motivational. Below are the qualities they said are important when choosing a wife. They were cautioned that women also look for these same qualities in men.
Good Attitude
Sexy Body
Independent
Good Personality
Pleasure
Good Looking
Sensible
Real Hair
Some comments from the young men in the programme.
“It went well”.
Samuel Bailey
“I will like to thank you very much for sharing your information with us and it was very informative and will be most useful in the future”.
Tevin Charles
“I enjoyed it. It was informative and I hope the other people benefited from it as I did”.
Anthony Daniel
“It was very informative and very much needed and appreciated. We need more speakers like Mr. Solwazi, to speak to the youths”.
Adrian Joseph
“It was very informative and fun. You should come back again, a couple more times”.

On Tuesday 14th July 2009 I was invited to the YTEPP Centre at Barataria Junior Secondary School. A total of 100 trainees were present, I gave a brief history of myself and invited the trainees to select a poem from a collection of poetry books I had on display. The workshop was very therapeutic and motivational. Below are the poems chosen by trainees.
Saying Goodbye
Do you remember losing something you cherished dear
Like your pet or that kite in the air
Many times we lose things we thought would last
And when we do we reflect on the past
There are some things you lose you can recover
But there are others when lost are gone forever
Life is designed in such a funny way
We should be prepared to lose something every day
Losing ourselves or even our mind
A golden opportunity if we sit idle wasting time
Losing our chastity occurs around a particular age
Losing our temper only happens when we get in a rage
You lose things that only death do you part
Losses have become so apparent
You lose your spouse, children and parent
Why do we lose things we would never ever know
This one is for you it was your time to go.

What is Love
Pain is love and love is pain
But like rain and water
Goes down in the drain
Love is there from time to time
Love is yours and love is mine
We can share it aware
No matter how, love is there to spare
In sun, winter or rain, love is there to gain
Love is light and love is dark
Love is there, no one can tear it apart
Love is you and love is me
And it can share with everyone we see
So in the morning or in the night
Love is there to give you sight
Why oh why can’t love be forever
So we can always stay together?
Like pain, love can go away
And may never come back to stay
Oh love! Oh love! Why can’t you stay?
And always be there another day
Pain is love and love is pain
Forever and ever there to gain
It may die, it may live
But love and pain is there all the time
So love, love and don’t despair
Love is there if you can bear

What Is Love?
What is love?
Love is good
Love is bad
Love is happy
Love is sad
Love is short
Love is long
Love is weak
Love is strong
Love is new
Love is old
Love is timid
Love is bold
Love is peace
Love is war
Love is sweet
Love is sore
Love is slow
Love is fast
Love is first
Love is last
Love is big
Love is small
Love for one
Love for all
Love is you
Love is me
Love is us
Let love be.

Roots
Call it our craziness even,
call it anything.
it is the life thing in us
that will not let us die.
even in death’s hand
we fold the fingers up
and call them greens and grow on them,
we hum them and make music.
call it out wildness then,
we are lost from the field
of flowers, we become
a field of flowers.
call it our craziness
our wildness
call it our roots,
it is the light of us
it is the light, call it
whatever you have to,
call it anything.

Sometimes I Cry
Sometimes when I’m alone
I cry because I’m on my own
The tears I cry R bitter and warm
They flow with life but take no form
I cry because my heart is torn
and I find it difficult 2 carry on
If I had an ear 2 confide in
I would cry among my treasured friends
But who do u know that stops that long
to help another carry on
The world moves fast and it would rather pass u by
than 2 stop and c what makes u cry
It’s painful and sad and sometimes I cry
and no one cares about why.
